History of Sanctimonia

Sanctimonia, a world where three kinds of beings dwell. Beasts, a type of beings that takes form of animals, living in wilderness according to their instinct. Spirits, a type of mystical beings whose souls are united with the nature. Humanoids, the most common beings who live in cities and villages, using their brains and logic to change their surroundings to their likings.

At first, the three dwellers lived in harmony with the nature, but as time goes by, everything started to change…

The numbers of Humanoids living in Sanctimonia increased greatly from time to time. Slowly, the once harmonious world turned into a highly populated place, and the development of technology produced a great amount of wastes, driving the nature into a very poor state. Plants withered away, the air and water is polluted. The Spirits can no longer lived in such condition, thus they decided to exile themselves to a faraway place, sealing their consciousness and sank into a deep slumber for eternity.

In this awfully dense population, a mysterious disease suddenly appeared. It is called Biological Degradation Syndrome or BDS Virus. Just like the name, those who have been infected by BDS Virus will degrade to the lowest level of their whole entities, turning them into undead-like creatures that live only to fulfill their most basic need, ‘to eat’. And when they attacked the other beings, their victims will also get infected. This disease struck not only Humanoids, but Beasts, too, and turned them into monsters.

There was no cure, no way to prevent this virus, except by staying away from the Infected Ones. But that, too, is not possible. Little by little, the population of Humanoids and Beasts decreased, and after a few years, became rare.

It looked as if Sanctimonia will soon meet its end. But the few surviving Humanoids then gathered, thinking of a way to restore their once harmonious world. After a long planning, they finally found a solution.

They formed a military force to dispose of the Infected Ones. They also gathered the remaining Beasts, which have become very rare, in a special facility in order to protect and breed them. It wasn’t easy, of course. At first, they even lost some of their comrades to the Infected Ones. But finally, they managed to control the situation.

After the world is finally at peace again, they started to rebuild their civilization. While developing the technology into a more and more advanced state, they also took care of the nature, so the world’s harmony wouldn’t broke again. And now, Sanctimonia has become the most advanced world among all. Everything is done by Cyborgs and computer system, while there are also places where the nature’s harmony is kept at its original beautiful state.

But still… Even if they are now living at peace, they realized that there are still dangers around them. The BDS Virus has never actually been disposed, and there might still be some of the Infected Ones out there.

Finally, they decided to teach their descendants how to defend themselves if something like before ever happened again. They also wanted their descendants to be able to continue the success achieved by their ancestors. And so, they built an academy, called ‘Laevateinn Academy’, where the young generations are taught about everything they need to survive and to continue their ancestors’ goal, in order to protect their dreamed utopia…

Laevateinn Academy

An Academy built to train Young Humanoids, in order to make them capable of continuing the development of their utopia. Students are divided into four levels, according to their study year, which are Newbie, Apprentice, Mediocre, and Expert. Aside of teaching them about basic fighting skills, they will also learn about basic skills needed for life, as well as knowledge about their surroundings.

The building of Laevateinn Academy consists of three floors, as well as an outdoor field for training purpose. It has dormitory for students and private rooms for faculties. It also has a barn for taking care of common beasts and a green house for botanical class. Next to the main building, there is the Natural Beasts Sanctuary’s Reservation or N.B.S.R, where rare beasts are being kept.

The current Headmaster of Laevateinn Academy is a Lucerne, named, Verredian Vir Éclairé, while the Vice Headmaster is a Mergevra, named Calishia Lacrimose.

Humanoids
Common beings with the most numbers. They lived in the cities with their likes, doing routine activities everyday, such as working, studying, etc. Most of the young Humanoids are sent to Laevateinn Academy, where they will spend their time learning how to protect themselves from danger and how to continue building their utopia. After graduated, they would become mercenaries who worked under certain organization to do various kinds of jobs, and of course, with a price.

Beasts
A type of beings that takes form of animals. They originally lived in wilderness, both alone or in groups, using their instincts to survive, although most of them are moved to Natural Beasts Sanctuary’s Reservation or N.B.S.R. Beasts are mostly tame, except if they’re being threatened.
  • Common Beasts. Beasts that take forms of common animals, such as dogs, cats, birds, horses, etc, and can easily be found almost everywhere.
  • Rare Beasts. This type of Beasts is usually being kept at the N.B.S.R to protect them for extinction. But there are still a few of them that hide in wilderness, although they could hardly be found. Most of these Beasts are bigger than any other creatures, around two or three meters height.

Spirits
A type of mystical beings whose souls are united with the nature. They hid themselves from other beings most of the time, so they could rarely be seen. Many considered them as Demons because of the mysterious power they wield, but they are not quite evil. Spirits can be hard to understand, but it is said that if one is able to make a pact with them, they will become a very loyal guardian.

Cyborgs
Artificial humanoids, widely known as ‘robots’, whose jobs are to maintain everything according to the computer system. Almost all public facilities are attended by these robots, including restaurants and snacks counter.
